ChangePoint Alaska

All Over Alaska

From Anchorage to 30 miles north of the Arctic Circle, watch our documentary chronicling ChangePoint’s vision to achieve “Life in Christ for Every Alaskan and the World Beyond.”

ChangePoint Alaska is a church with a bold mission: life in Christ for every Alaskan and the world beyond.

But a mission is only as good as the vision to live it out. And how exactly do you reach every Alaskan, much less the world?

The Anchorage-based church is one of, if not the largest evangelical churches in the 49th state. But one campus can only reach so much of the state’s 663,267 square miles. So in 2018, ChangePoint took on a radical vision to launch 10 new campuses in 10 years.

In the summer of 2018, we partnered with ChangePoint to launch two new portable campuses outside of Anchorage in back to back weekends.

The Mat-Su Valley Campus caters to the rapidly growing town of Palmer, situated 40 miles northeast of Anchorage. Then there’s the Tikahtnu Campus in the shadows of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, serving military families, soon to depart for all corners of the world. But what about every Alaskan?

ChangePoint has also partnered with the Kramer family, natives in Kotzebue, some 30 miles north of the Arctic Circle. The town itself boasts 3,200 proud residents, but also serves as a hub for about 13 surrounding native villages. So how do you get them all to church?

Facebook.

Now natives who’ve never heard of Jesus are hearing the Gospel for the first time through sharing and social algorithms. It’s just the start of a growing discipleship movement, starting in the Kramers’ living room.

Sure, the state has 739,000 residents, but one at a time, ChangePoint is going to do its best to reach them.
